Outer Beauty

Hiei began to walk into the bedroom only to be caught breathless by what he saw. An eight months pregnant with twins Kurama was undressing. So far, he only had his top off and was unaware that Hiei was watching him. After the Dark Tournament, Kurama had been extremely careful about covering and hiding himself, even around his lover. He had become extremely self conscious about the way he looked. This was the first time Hiei had seen Kurama without a shirt on since they found out about the pregnancy...between 3 and 4 months...It never occurred to Hiei how big Kurama was with his bare skin showing.

Kurama swung his shirt over his left shoulder and turned slightly, only to see his own reflection in a mirror staring back at him. He brought his hand to his stomach, fingers tracing the several stretch marks along the base as he frowned. He slowly closed his eyes and smiled as he felt movement from inside his belly. He brought his hand up to about where his belly button currently resided. He giggled a bit when he felt another kick.

All the while, Hiei was absolutely mesmerized by this. He was so entranced that he didn't realize he was slowly leaning into the room more than someone spying should be. He stumbled a bit and the door creaked, causing Kurama to jump. Kurama grabbed for the shirt on his shoulder, but in his haste, dropped it on the hardwood floors. He tried to pick it up, but the size of his stomach was preventing him to bend all the way down. He figured his next option was to either lean against something and bend at the knees or pick it up with his toes...and Kurama was not exactly known to have 'monkey feet'. Just as he was about to press his back to the wall, Hiei walked all the way into the room.

"No, please, Kurama...don't strain yourself..."

"Don't look at me, Hiei...I don't look like I once did...This isn't the body you fell in love with..." Kurama said as he turned his back to Hiei.

"You don't have to hide from me Kurama...I love you...no matter what you look like...even the way you look now, you are still beautiful..."

"Heh, don't lie to me, Hiei...you're just saying that to make me feel better." Even if Hiei couldn't see his face, he could smell the tears Kurama was now shedding. Hiei had no idea how this had been affecting his fox...Kurama usually shared what he felt with Hiei...maybe he thought Hiei wouldn't understand...Hiei came up behind Kurama and hugged him gently, tenderly running his hands over the smooth skin that was mere centimeters above the two babies he and Kurama created by pure mistake. Kurama sighed in relaxation at the sensation he was feeling and dropped his hands to his sides. He whined a little when Hiei's touch left his body and put his arms around his chest because he was getting cold.

"Kurama, know this...I love you no matter what...nothing will ever change that...even after I die, I will still love you..." Hearing these words from Hiei made Kurama smile and more tears fall down his cheeks...because he knew deep in his heart that the words were true and pure.
